New South Wales Council for Civil Liberties is proud to announce two new awards for excellence in civil liberties journalism for an article or series of articles, or a radio, television or podcast presentation, promoting civil liberties. The two awards will be:
- for young journalists under the age of 30 on 2 August, 2019, and
- in the open category.
Nominations are now open and submissions are welcome whether by self-nomination or third party nomination. Submissions must include copies or links to the material the subject of the nomination.
To be eligible, nominations must have been published or broadcast in Australia and must be received by the Council for Civil Liberties by 2 August, 2019.
Three finalists in each category will be invited to attend the Council’s annual gala dinner to be held on 10 September 2019, where the winners will be announced. The keynote speaker will be Chair of the ABC, Ita Buttrose.
