2020 NSWCCL Annual General Meeting

The 57th Annual General Meeting of the New South Wales Council for Civil Liberties (NSWCCL) will be held electronically at 6pm on Wednesday 21st October 2020, in accordance with Article 29(1) of the Constitution and as approved by the Committee.

Join us on zoom to catch up on the activities of NSWCCL over the last year, participate in the election of the NSWCCL Executive and Committee for 2020-21, vote on the attached constitutional amendment to remove an anomaly from our rules and consider and vote on strategic civil liberties policy positions.

Sadly, the COVID -19 situation means we cannot enjoy our usual lively social catch-up at the end of the meeting. We will remedy that as soon as the COVID situation allows us to come together for a social. Members are encouraged to log in and participate in this important general meeting of the Council.

AGM Business

  • Confirm the Minutes of the 2019 AGM.
  • Receive the Executives’ reports on the year’s activities and financial position (Copies will be
    distributed prior to the AGM).
  • Receive Information Items including the Policy on Reserves.
  • Consider and vote on a Special Resolution to amend the NSWCCL Constitution (Notice
    provided 28 September 2020).
  • Consider and vote on a number of proposed NSWCCL policies.
  • Elect the new Committee and Executive members to run NSWCCL for 2020/21.
    (Note only financial members of the NSWCCL are able to vote on any of the above issues or additional
    issues).

Nomination for Committee and Executive positions
Nomination forms for Committee or Executive positions can be found on the NSWCCL website by clicking HERE. Nominees for Committee or Executive positions must have been financial members of NSWCCL for at least 3 months prior to the AGM. Please note that it is important for you to provide information in relation to your interests and skills/experiences on the nomination form before asking your nominees to sign it. Nominations must be returned to the Secretary by 5pm 14 October 2020.
