Take Action

If there is a civil liberties issue that you feel strongly about, then you can...

Who is responsible?

Not sure which Minister is responsible for administering legislation?

In NSW, the Allocation of the Administration of Acts lists which Minister is responsible for administering an Act.

At the federal level, you need to look at the most recent Administrative Arrangements Orders.

Become an active member of CCL

We have a wide range of members who participate in CCL in many different ways, depending on their time, interests and skills. Our members receive a quarterly journal called Civil Liberty, participate in CCL functions, and may attend committee meetings to air their views. Some of the activities are listed here. CCL maintains an office three days per week (with an employed executive secretary) in Sydney to handle enquires.

We also publish a quarterly journal Civil Liberty. We hold monthly committee and executive committee meetings. We organise special public events for fundraising and public awareness. We regularly provide public speakers and media commentary. We liaise with members of the Federal and NSW Parliament on legislative reform. We write submissions to Parliamentary and other committees on many justice issues. We provide limited support to individuals and other organisations on a pro bono basis. We maintain a small library with limited relevant subscriptions.
