Dead Time - a play inspired by the story of Dr Mohamed Haneef

Dead Time showing between Wednesday 20 May and Friday 29 May - see below for all dates

Lace Balloon presents Dead Time, a new Australian play about the story of Dr Mohamed Haneef: an Indian national working on the Gold Coast, detained without charge in 2007 under new anti-terrorism provisions in the Commonwealth Crimes Act on suspicion of being connected to the attack on Glasgow Airport.

It is a story of one man’s incredible struggle, as well as the struggles we each have to face and the challenges we face as a country. How do we protect national security? And at what cost to our freedom? Who are we letting lead the conversation about race, religion and national identity? And how are we keeping them to account?
What can happen, and who will step up, when the time between arrest and charge is potentially unlimited?
